Highlighting this month:
  • Shattuckite cabochons
  • Chrysocolla cabochons
  • Malachite cabochons

1. Shattuckite is a relatively rare copper silicate hydroxide mineral. It looks similar to chrysocolla but their chemical make-up is not the same. Metaphysically, shattuckite is generally used to balance out the body and enhance overall well-being.

2. Chrysocolla is a copper silicate and has a cyan-blue color. Chrysocolla often forms in combination with other minerals which increases its durability. Chrysocolla in its purest form is pretty rare and very delicate. It crumbles too easily to be formed into other shapes. For this reason, care should always be taken when cleaning and handling chrysocolla, so the stone isn't damaged. Metaphysically, chrysocolla is a stone of prosperity.

3. Malachite is a copper oxide and is toxic if ingested or inhaled. For this reason, it's best NOT to put malachite in water, or grind it unless you're a professional. In its polished form, malachite is perfectly safe to handle, and is one of my favorite stones to wear. Metaphysically, chrysocolla is a stone of prosperity, while malachite helps to balance positive and negative.

A Message for the Month

Picture
March
The March full moon is on the horizon. This month's moon will take place on the 7th and is known as the "Worm Moon".  Not far behind is Ostara (on March 20th), which celebrates the SPRING EQUINOX! Why did I emphasize the spring equinox? Because I don't know a single person who isn't completely sick of winter by now. So, celebrate, my friends. Spring and new beginnings are almost here.
